It's a place we've all found ourselves. There are so many
things that may go wrong with acne: mood swings, cravings for sweets, sobbing
over nothing. We Read More as to what's going on. A few days here and there; a
week or more on occasion. Then, when we got our period, everything fell into
place. The dreaded premenstrual syndrome (PMS) symptoms were back in full
force.
If you don't want to go through this every month, there are
several easy solutions to prevent the agony. For the week preceding up to your
menstruation, use this as a reference.
Progesterone
production should be increased.
Stress, over-exercise, and under-eating all contribute to low progesterone levels. After ovulation, progesterone levels increase sharply and then fall if you cannot conceive, causing the uterine lining to shed and your period to come.
If you don't ovulate, your body relies exclusively on progesterone generated by your adrenal glands (which, women, if you're stressed, your adrenals will be battling to accomplish this!) to maintain your reproductive health.
Anxiety is a common PMS symptom, and the drop in
progesterone levels may exacerbate it just before your period.
